Mastery of combined rail and road transport gives Sernam unique expertise in the express market in France and is line with its environmental commitment.

Every night, a network of express cargo trains carry north/south and south/north delivery flows, allowing Sernam to remove 15,000 lorries a year from French roads.

Sernam is also trialling the use of electrically-powered lorries in several French cities. This method aims to facilitate “last kilometre” delivery and optimise deliveries to built-up areas and their outskirts, while also relieving the pressure on urban roads.
